EFCC Arrests ex-NDDC MD, Nsima Ekere For Alleged Diversion of Funds


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Nsima Ekere, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), on Wednesday for alleged diversion of funds totaling N47 billion through registered contractors of the agency.

Wilson Uwajaren, the Commission’s spokesperson, confirmed this to Channels Television.

 Nsima who is presently the leader of APC in Akwa Ibom,  served as the agency’s Managing Director from 2016 to 2018,.

In the 2019 elections, he ran as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Akwa Ibom.

This comes just a few days after the EFCC arrested Ahmed Idris, the Accountant General of the Federation, for a N80 billion fraud.
