A beautiful and radiant skin cannot be achieved overnight; it requires a lot of care and commitment. Although we see a lot of adverts every day promoting creams and lotions for skincare. However, maintaining a glowing and healthy skin doesn’t have to be expensive because skincare goes beyond using creams and lotions. It starts with recognising some detrimental habits that might seem insignificant or harmless but are damaging to your skin. Some are widely known, such as sun exposure, cigarettes, poor diet, low water intake, lack of sleep, and stress. Avoiding each protects your skin.

Bad Skincare Habit #1: Popping pimple!

Pimples are so ugly. When one rears its head (and they always do it in the most noticeable places, don’t they?), all you want to do is get rid of it as soon as possible. And so you pop it.

Bad move. Popping a pimple can cause an infection. Worst case scenario, it leaves a permanent scar. Not worth it, is it?

Hands off!

Face front!

Just apply a cream that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid on it and let it go off.

Bad Skincare Habit #2: washing your face with very hot water.

I am guilty!

When the weather is freezing cold outside, it’s just so nice to come back home and take a long, hot shower, isn’t it?

But hot water is not your friend. Its strips the natural, protective oils from your skin, leaving it dry and itchy. Better take shorter showers in lukewarm water instead.

Bad Skincare Habit #3: Licking Your Lips

When your lips feel dry, you’re tempted to lick them to get some welcome relief. For a few short minutes. Then, you’re back to square one.

It gets when you keep licking.

Bad Skincare Habit #4: Using Dirty Tools.

You wash your face twice a day to get rid of all the junk that has accumulated on it during the day (and night). But what about your makeup brushes? Or your tweezers? Or towels?

What about the pillows you sleep on? Bedsheets? When last did you wash them?

That is why you have small, small pimples on your face! Aw!

Bad Skincare Habit #5: Not washing your hair often!
